A lot of people ask us where can we go and pitch up. if your totally new to motorhomes and camping and still want your creature comforts, then we recommend that you visit a camp site that has a few extra services then just a normal camp siteSo where is that place I hear you ask. Well there is place that has pitching sites all over the U.K and have on site grocery shops, bars, restaurants, pools, crazy golf, beaches, forest walks and a whole lot more, This place is called Haven.
We stayed at the Perranporth Haven site in 2020 and although it was not one of our usual off grid camping locations, the place was actually quite nice. It had more facilities and services for us and the children. I still can't believe that we had a pizza delivered to our motorhome when we did not feel like cooking one night.
Once you have experienced camping at a site like Haven, then I would recommend that you try other campsites that are near historic places of interest. You won’t find bars and restaurants at these sites but they can often bee found in the local town or harbour, like Padstow in Cornwall. At the regular campsite, you will be close to nature and have other things to do like discovering trails to go on walks or cycling. Camp fires are the norm at these places so get ready to huddle around, roast marshmallows and get the Hot chocolates in to look up and hopefully have an unpolluted view of sky at night to see the milky way.
